ABOUT ME
Originally from the North West of England, I made the move to Surrey in 1987—just after the great storm that reshaped the landscape and left its mark on so many lives. That moment of upheaval somehow mirrored the transitions I was going through myself, and it marked the beginning of a new chapter.
Over the years, my professional journey has taken many forms. I’ve worked as a holistic therapist, a photographer, and in various other roles—but the common thread running through all of them has always been a deep desire to support and uplift others. Whether through healing touch, capturing meaningful moments, or simply being present, I’ve always been drawn to the human experience and the ways we connect, comfort, and care for one another.
My path as a celebrant began in the most personal and profound way. When my husband was diagnosed with cancer, I became his carer, walking beside him through the final stages of his life. After he died, I was honoured to lead his funeral—the first “official” ceremony I ever conducted. It was incredibly challenging, emotionally and practically, but it also turned out to be one of the proudest and most meaningful days of my life. In that moment, I realised I had found my calling.
Being a funeral celebrant is not just a role for me—it’s a vocation, a passion, and a privilege. I know it might sound unusual to say I love what I do, especially given the sadness that surrounds it, but I truly do. Helping families navigate grief, honour their loved ones, and create ceremonies that feel personal, dignified, and healing is something I care about deeply.
A funeral is the final gift we can give to someone we love. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, and say goodbye with intention. Having experienced loss myself—more than once—I bring not only professional experience but genuine empathy and understanding to every family I work with. I know how important it is to feel held, heard, and supported during such a vulnerable time.
When you work with me, you can expect someone who is compassionate, grounded, and gently attuned to your needs. I’ll walk alongside you with care, clarity, and kindness—and if there’s room for a little lightness or humour, I’ll offer that too, always with sensitivity and respect.
